Big Band Meets Broadway

Design

The theme for the Arsenal Center for the Arts’ 2012 Annual Benefit was Big Band Meets Broadway, where a big band would be playing Broadway favorites. I started with the colors that the Center had been using for their latest run of education print materials (primary red, blue, yellow, plus green) and channeled a bit of big band with the dancing color blocks, then added the silhouetted images of jazz instruments, which seemed a bit Broadway to me. We printed invitations, posters, postcards, and a 40-page program book, all of which I designed and saw through from concept to completion.
